My brother is the one who first introduced me to Chris over three years ago. My brother experienced a high degree of success with Chris’ diet plan and he believed I could benefit as well. Little did I know at the time that the introduction would change my life so dramatically!
I desperately needed to lose 150 pounds, which is not a small number by any stretch of the imagination. I was severely overweight and had been for most of my life. It got so bad that in the fall of 2006, I could hardly walk because I had terrific back pain (sciatica) and arthritis in my left knee.
During Thanksgiving 2006 my brother made me realize that I needed to get my weight problem under control. And, thank God he did because if not I’m certain I would have become ill and maybe even become an invalid. I am so grateful to my brother for making me realize how much I needed to get my lifestyle under control – so I agreed to speak with Chris.
In December 2006, I spoke with Chris and he consulted with me about my entire lifestyle (work schedule, sleep/wake time, health issues, prescriptions, eating habits, etc). After doing so, he designed a new eating plan which involved weighing and measuring everything, eating 5–6 servings daily, eliminating sodium, etc; which was dramatically different from what I had been doing.
Then, in January 2007 and with the help & support of my husband, I started Chris’ new plan!
We threw away everything in our refrigerator that contained sodium, dumped the spice rack, shopped for more fruits and vegetables. I have learned to eat several small meals during the day; and instead of eating a dish of ice cream every night I eat fresh pineapple or a bowl of berries. Additionally, to watching what I eat I also exercise which consists of 2 hours of weight training and 3–4 hours of cardio per week. When I began the program I couldn’t walk 2 miles a week, now I walk 16 – 20 miles a week and at a much faster pace)!
Although I am not at my goal yet, I remain upbeat and positive and I work at it every day because I love how good I feel and how much better I look! So far, I have lost 105 pounds and I owe it to learning to eat clean and healthy, smaller portions and controling my sodium intake along with exercise. Chris’ plan is sensible, healthy and very easy to follow. It has definitely changed my life forever! I stay motivated because I realize how much I have to live for every day!
